The competition is played every Tuesday evening throughout the season and sees participants paying £1 to get randomly selected to play against each other, preferably in triples or pairs.
In the case of triples, a Skip is selected for each team. This is normally based upon having some experience in the position, but players are encouraged to have a try if they would like to. Game results are recorded throughout the season.
Points are allocated 2 for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss.
At the end of the season, the winner is the person with the best 7 games during the season. In practice, due to the extended playing period compared to previously, this means that everyone is in the running to have 14 points for their best 7 games. Thus, it comes down to shot difference. In the unlikely event that more than one person has the same shot difference, the winner is decided by ends won.
The runner up is the person with the maximum number of points during the whole season. Again, in the event of a tie, the result is decided by shot difference.
The winner then chooses which charity gets the accumulated funds which have built up throughout the season.
